Monet's Willow Reaching

I painted plein air under this awesome old willow tree at Monet's Garden's in Giverny, France this summer (2014). Since

then I have wanted to paint it. The willow fronds protected me from the sun and were ever reflected in the garden's waters.

It's age, strength, character, wispy nature, and reaching arms with flowing leaves all drew me in and remain with me in my

endeavors to capture Nature's Essence in Monet's Gardens.
